For Carlisle Chrysler Nationals, this year is extra special, as it celebrates 50 glorious years of some of the best known dragsters, muscle cars, classics and even new brands. Of special note are the 1968 Dodge Dart, Dodge Super Bee, Dodge Charger, Plymouth Barracuda and the Plymouth Road Runner. The exhibition is expected to attract thousands of visitors to the famed Carlisle Fairgrounds between July 13-15, 2018 in what will be a mopar lover’s paradise.

The Plymouth Super Stock Barracuda featured on the ‘Legends of 1968’ T-shirt has a memorable history. This was one of the cars that Don Grotheer steered and galloped to victory at the 1969 NHRA Winternationals. A year back, Plymouth had taken 70 Barracudas and converted them for a new war, adorned with streaks of red, white and blue. The cars came to be known as the ‘A-bomb’ and are still seen racing in their own class today.

The legendary SS Barracuda features on the new T-shirt, so that visitors to the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals can walk into the exhibition with a new style, or bring home the old excitement with a wallpaper and mobile cover. The merchandise features five legendary Dodge and Plymouth cars that made history in 1968 – the 1968 models of SS Barracuda, Plymouth Roadrunner, Dodge Coronet/Superbee, Dodge Charger and the SS Dart.

Quarter Mile Addiction will not only make the Carlisle edition more special, but is looking forward to the other three big events of the year: the Mopar Nationals, Mopar Fest, and the NHRA US Nationals. Fans can visit the official website for more updates and new launches that will be happening soon.

The ‘Legends of 1968’ T-shirt and accessories are available in a limited edition from the official Quarter Mile Addiction online store. All merchandise is available with global shipping in 3-5 days, and urgent deliveries are available.

Jun 22, 2018

LONDON — The bonds between Europe and North America are under strain and there's no guarantee the trans-Atlantic partnership will survive, the head of NATO warned Thursday. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called for an effort to shore up the military alliance amid the divisions between Europe and the United States over trade, climate change and the Iran nuclear deal. "It is not written in stone that the trans-Atlantic bond will survive forever," Stoltenberg said during a speech in London. "But I believe we will preserve it." NATO has been shaken by U.S. President Donald Trump's "America First" stance and...

China says US swinging 'big stick' of unfair trade tactics

Jun 22, 2018

BEIJING — China on Thursday accused the United States of using bullying tactics and blackmail in threatening to impose tariffs on hundreds of billions of dollars of Chinese imports, ramping up criticism that the measures levied in the name of balancing trade would harm both countries' companies and the world economy. Commerce Ministry spokesman Gao Feng said the U.S. was damaging the global trading order and that its methods would harm its own business interests as well as those of trading partners. "We oppose the act of extreme pressure and blackmail by swinging the big stick of trade protectionism," Gao...

Survey: Companies in China feel pressure to give up tech

Jun 22, 2018

BEIJING — One in five foreign companies in China feels compelled to hand over technology for market access, a business group said Wednesday, highlighting a key irritant in an escalating U.S.-Chinese trade dispute. The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China's report follows President Donald Trump's order for tariffs on additional Chinese goods in response to complaints Beijing steals or pressures companies to hand over technology. Out of 532 European companies that responded to a survey, 19 percent "felt compelled to transfer technology in exchange for market access" despite Chinese assurances that it isn't required, the chamber said. "China has...

TOKYO — Japan's government has ordered an emergency inspection of cinder-block walls at schools nationwide, a day after an earthquake in Osaka killed five people, two of whom were crushed by falling walls. The magnitude 6.1 earthquake that struck Osaka during Monday's morning rush hour injured more than 370 people in the region, according to the Fire and Disaster Management Agency.
